Dental Hygienist

Description:

Queen Street Family Dental in Chatham is seeking a compassionate and dedicated Dental Hygienist to join their patient-focused, growth-oriented practice. The role involves providing comprehensive dental hygiene services including teeth cleaning, scaling, polishing, periodontal assessments, and taking digital dental X-rays. Accurate documentation of patient medical history, treatment plans, and progress notes is essential. The hygienist will work collaboratively with dentists and dental assistants to deliver high-quality care while maintaining a clean and safe clinical environment that adheres to infection control protocols.

The position requires strong communication skills to effectively educate patients on oral hygiene and treatment options, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, professional setting. Familiarity with dental office software (Tracker is a plus) and current CPR/First Aid certification are important.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide gentle and effective dental hygiene treatments

• Conduct oral health assessments and periodontal charting

• Document patient history and treatment details accurately

• Take high-quality digital dental X-rays

• Collaborate with dental team members for seamless patient care

• Maintain a clean and organized operatory and lab space

• Participate in team meetings and contribute to a positive work culture

Qualifications:

• Registered and in good standing with the College of Dental Hygienists of Ontario (CDHO)

• Knowledge of current dental hygiene procedures

• Excellent attention to detail and record-keeping skills

• Strong interpersonal and communication abilities

• Experience with dental software, preferably Tracker

• CPR/First Aid certification
