Description:
Kingsway College School (KCS), a leading independent K–12 institution with two campuses in Toronto, is seeking a Data Systems Administrator to join its Academic Technology team. KCS is committed to fostering curiosity, leadership, and engaged citizenship in students, while maintaining strong technical infrastructure that supports seamless operations.
Reporting to the Director of Academic Technology, this permanent, full-time position involves maintaining, securing, and optimizing the Student Information System (SIS) and Learning Management System (LMS). The role requires excellent communication skills, technical expertise, and creative problem-solving to support staff, parents, and students in a fast-paced environment. The successful candidate will serve as a key liaison for parent inquiries, provide ongoing support, and ensure smooth system functionality across departments.
Key Responsibilities:
Monitor SIS and LMS system security and user accounts, ensuring data integrity and compliance.
Generate, update, and manage accounts, emergency contacts, and relationships.
Provide daily technical support, troubleshoot issues, and source effective solutions.
Support onboarding of new parents and provide system training/documentation.
Extract data, generate SQL and enterprise reports, and maintain SIS customizations.
Collaborate on system rollovers, data imports/exports, and enrollment processes.
Ensure SIS reflects current Ontario Ministry of Education requirements (OSSD).
Manage school forms and ensure consistent data accuracy across all platforms.
Participate in industry networks to remain updated on best practices.
Job Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree (preferably in a quantitative field).
At least 1 year of SIS & LMS experience in education.
Strong knowledge of database architectures and organizational database management.
Advanced technical skills in Excel, SQL, HTML, JSON, VBA, PowerBI, and other analytics/programming tools.
Excellent problem-solving, critical thinking, and system evaluation skills.
Ability to troubleshoot, design, and test processes independently.
Strong verbal/written communication and customer service skills.
Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
Eligible to work in Canada.
Assets (Preferred but not required):
Experience in independent schools.
Knowledge of PowerSchool, Schoology, and/or Finalsite.
Advanced proficiency in additional programming languages.
