Data Strategy Manager

Description:

Deloitte is hiring a Manager, Data Strategy & Governance to join its Global Transformation team and play a key role in shaping and implementing the Data Strategy & Governance Office (DSGO) at a global scale. This is a hybrid position primarily based out of Toronto, with the opportunity to work from other major Deloitte offices across Canada.

This role will support the creation, execution, and continuous improvement of data governance strategies and processes across the global network. You will collaborate with global technology teams, data stewards, and functional leaders to drive data quality, ensure proper stewardship of assets, and align data governance initiatives with organizational goals.

The ideal candidate is a seasoned data strategist with a proactive approach, strong leadership and analytical skills, and a passion for driving innovation through effective data management practices.

Key Responsibilities:

• Co-develop and maintain DSGO strategy documents, including policies, playbooks, standards, and frameworks.

• Facilitate governance processes and decision-making forums in partnership with global platform and technology teams.

• Lead continuous improvement and benchmarking activities to align with global data management best practices.

• Collaborate with global data stewards to standardize practices, identify critical datasets, and disseminate leading methodologies.

• Measure and report on data quality, and support programs aimed at quality improvement.

• Collect business and technical requirements to recommend data lifecycle and classification solutions.

• Oversee change management and training efforts associated with DSGO implementation.

• Encourage innovation in data management by leveraging emerging technologies and governance models.

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Data Science, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.

• Minimum 5 years of experience in data governance, data strategy, or data management.

• Proven experience leading cross-functional data initiatives such as data quality or policy implementation.

• Strong knowledge of data management processes including metadata, master data, and data access.

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to influence and collaborate across departments.

• Strong analytical and project management capabilities with attention to detail.

• Familiarity with tools like Informatica, SAP, or Salesforce is a plus.

Compensation & Benefits:

• Annual Salary: CAD 85000 – CAD 156000
