Data Strategy & Governance Manager

Deloitte is seeking a Data Strategy & Governance Manager to play a key role in establishing the new Data Strategy & Governance Office (DSGO) at Deloitte Global. This role will involve developing and implementing global data governance strategies in alignment with organizational objectives and multi-regional requirements. The ideal candidate will have experience in data governance, data management, and technology architecture, and will thrive in environments where ambiguity exists. This position offers a chance to create frameworks and processes from the ground up as the DSGO defines new capabilities.

The position involves co-developing strategy materials, data governance playbooks, policies, and frameworks, collaborating with global teams, and driving continuous improvements in data management practices. The manager will oversee the integration of governance practices, ensure data quality, and lead change management activities.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement data governance materials, policies, and frameworks.

• Facilitate decision-making processes to steward data assets in partnership with global teams.

• Drive continuous improvements in data management, conducting benchmarking activities.

• Collaborate with data stewards to assess critical data sets and share leading practices.

• Measure and report on data quality and oversee programs improving data quality.

• Partner with technology teams to integrate governance practices in data management.

• Lead change management and training initiatives related to data governance practices.

• Foster an innovation mindset to oversee data assets using emerging technologies.

Requirements:

• 5+ years of experience in data governance, strategy, and management.

• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Data Science, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.

• Strong knowledge of data governance processes, including master data management, data quality, and data access.

• Ability to navigate challenges and solve problems with critical thinking.

• Proven experience managing multiple programs with attention to detail.

• Strong communication and relationship-building skills.

• Familiarity with Informatica, SAP, and Salesforce is an asset.
