Data Engineer

Description:

Signature IT World Inc is seeking an experienced Data Engineer to join their team in Mississauga, ON on a hybrid contract basis. The ideal candidate will bring in-depth expertise in Master Data Management (MDM) implementation and support, along with a strong technical foundation in data engineering practices. This role will involve designing and maintaining scalable data pipelines, ensuring data quality, and supporting advanced analytics capabilities across the organization.

Key responsibilities include:

• Designing, implementing, and supporting Master Data Management (MDM) solutions using tools such as Informatica MDM, Reltio, TIBCO, or IBM InfoSphere MDM.

• Building and maintaining robust ETL/ELT pipelines for large-scale data integration across multiple systems.

• Leveraging SQL, Python, and PySpark for data processing, transformation, and optimization.

• Working with cloud data platforms including AWS, Azure, or GCP to develop secure and scalable data solutions.

• Applying strong knowledge of data governance, data quality frameworks, and metadata management to ensure integrity and compliance.

• Developing and maintaining data models, data warehouses, and master data entity structures for business-critical applications.

• Collaborating closely with stakeholders, business users, and technical teams to deliver reliable data solutions aligned with business goals.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field.

• 5+ years of proven experience as a Data Engineer with a strong focus on MDM systems.

• Proficiency in SQL, Python, or PySpark for data engineering tasks.

• Experience with modern data integration and cloud platforms.

• Strong problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills with the ability to engage stakeholders effectively.
