Description:
360 Technology is actively seeking a highly skilled and experienced Data Engineer to join their technology team in Mississauga, Ontario. This hybrid role is an excellent opportunity for professionals with deep expertise in Snowflake and SQL, especially those with exposure to the financial domain.
The successful candidate will be responsible for the design, development, and optimization of a scalable Snowflake data warehouse, tailored to support complex financial data analytics and reporting. In addition to deep technical knowledge, the role requires strong collaboration with business and financial stakeholders to align data infrastructure with strategic insights.
Key Responsibilities:
Architect, develop, and maintain Snowflake data warehouse solutions for financial data systems.
Write and optimize complex SQL queries, stored procedures, and data transformation scripts.
Implement best practices in data modeling, indexing, and performance tuning within the Snowflake ecosystem.
Partner with financial analysts and business teams to gather data requirements and deliver precise, actionable reporting outputs.
Guarantee data integrity, privacy, and compliance with financial regulations within the data pipeline.
Lead migration efforts from legacy systems into the Snowflake platform, ensuring smooth transitions and minimal operational disruption.
Serve as an internal Snowflake subject matter expert, resolving technical issues and providing guidance.
Stay current with Snowflake’s evolving capabilities and proactively enhance platform usage.
Document system designs, processes, and procedures to ensure operational continuity and support.
Requirements:
At least 8 years of hands-on experience with Snowflake development and data warehousing.
Expert-level SQL skills, including optimization techniques for high-performance queries.
Strong understanding of data warehousing principles, data modeling, and ETL strategies.
Working knowledge of Azure Data Factory (ADF), Databricks, and additional Azure data services.
Experience with Python and PySpark for advanced data processing and pipeline automation.
Familiarity with financial data structures, reporting, and compliance standards.
Strong understanding of Snowflake’s architecture, features, and data handling strategies.
Preferred Qualifications:
Background in financial reporting, risk management, or investment analytics.
Familiarity with additional BI tools and data integration platforms.
Certifications such as Snowflake SnowPro Core Certification are a significant plus.
