Data Architecture Specialist

LGS, an IBM Company, is seeking an Architecte en Intelligence d’Affaire – BI (Business Intelligence Architect) to join its growing technology team in Québec. Key Responsibilities:

Architectural Design and Strategy

• Develop, plan, and coordinate the methodological framework for business intelligence architecture.

• Supervise the creation and delivery of BI architectural components in compliance with chosen methodologies.

• Design ETL environments, data mapping logic, and data warehouse infrastructures.

• Create cubes and analytical models using star schemas, snowflake schemas, and ROLAP structures.

• Build and maintain data presentation layers for cubes and reporting tools.

Data Management and Analytics

• Support business users and analysts in understanding, selecting, and interpreting management reports and queries.

• Guide the development of data models, management tools, and data warehouse technologies.

• Contribute to the evolution of BI architectures, including software selection and integration of new tools.

• Conduct ongoing monitoring of BI trends, metadata management, and documentation standards to ensure continuous improvement.

Collaboration and Leadership

• Work closely with IT and business teams to translate analytical requirements into technical designs.

• Lead data governance and ensure consistency across BI systems.

• Provide mentorship and technical guidance to development teams on BI standards and best practices.

Qualifications:

• Education: Bachelor’s degree (BAC) in Computer Science or equivalent field.

• Experience:

  • At least 5 years of professional experience in IT.

  • Minimum 3 years of experience developing Power BI reports and dashboards.

  • Minimum 3 years of hands-on experience with Oracle and Microsoft SQL Server databases.

• Certifications: Oracle or Microsoft SQL Server certification preferred.

• Technical Expertise:

  • Experience with development methodologies such as Macroscope.

  • Familiarity with tools like Oracle Data Modeler, SQL Developer Data Modeler, Pentaho Suite (PDI, User Console, Analysis), and Microsoft Power BI.

  • Experience using Axway XFB (Axway File Broker) and Oracle ADF (Faces and Business Components) is an asset.

• Soft Skills:

  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and written communication skills.

  • Excellent organizational and priority management abilities.

  • Bilingualism in French and English required to collaborate with international teams.
