Fidelity Canada, a trusted leader in investment management for over 35 years, is seeking a skilled Data Analyst and Reporting Tools Developer to join its growing team in Toronto. As a Data Analyst and Reporting Tools Developer, you will provide strategic data analysis and develop business intelligence tools to support the Fidelity Senior Executive Team and key business units. You will work closely with stakeholders to design, develop, and enhance reporting databases, improve automation, and ensure data accuracy across multiple systems. The role combines data analysis, reporting, automation, and system development to drive operational efficiency and informed decision-making.
Conduct comprehensive research and analysis to understand current and future business reporting needs.
Design, develop, and deploy new reporting databases and applications, integrating data from multiple sources (relational databases, 3rd party systems, flat files).
Maintain, enhance, and re-engineer existing Business Intelligence, Access, and Excel-based reports to improve accuracy and performance.
Implement automated tools and streamlined processes to increase efficiency for business and finance teams.
Perform data cleansing, validation, and manipulation across diverse data sources.
Prepare and maintain detailed documentation of reporting tools, structures, and procedures.
Conduct thorough testing for data integrity and application performance.
Provide regular progress updates and insights through clear reporting and presentations.
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and multitasking skills with a proactive approach to challenges.
Excellent verbal and written communication abilities, capable of interacting with senior stakeholders.
Expertise in MS Access, Excel, VBA programming, and RPA (Robotic Process Automation) applications.
Experience managing data from relational or multidimensional databases using SQL.
Knowledge of business analysis, data flow design, and process re-engineering.
Strong project management skills and ability to deliver under tight timelines.
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business Administration, Finance, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
Experience with enterprise reporting platforms such as Power BI, Tableau, Business Objects, OBIEE, or Snowflake.
Prior experience in the financial services, custody, or clearing sectors is a significant asset.
