The Customs Brokerage Associate will be responsible for preparing and reviewing customs documentation for imports, ensuring compliance with company policies and Canada Customs regulations. You will handle the processing of CAD entries, manage customs examinations by liaising with importers and CBSA, and resolve rejected entries efficiently. The position also involves completing and closing customs files in a timely and accurate manner, following both company and regulatory procedures.
Candidates should bring at least 3–5 years of experience in customs brokerage, a sound understanding of the Customs Tariff, and preferably prior exposure to CargoWise (CW1). Proficiency in MS Office applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) is essential. The ideal candidate will demonstrate excellent communication skills, the ability to multitask effectively, and strong organizational and teamwork capabilities.
The position follows a hybrid work model (3 days in office and 2 days remote), allowing flexibility while maintaining team collaboration.
Key Responsibilities:
Prepare, review, and process customs documentation for imports in compliance with Canada Customs regulations.
Correct and resubmit rejected customs entries accurately.
Coordinate with importers and CBSA during customs examinations.
Ensure timely and precise closure of all customs files.
Support team members with additional duties as assigned.
Key Requirements:
3–5+ years of experience in Customs Brokerage.
Proficiency in customs tariff utilization.
Familiarity with CargoWise (CW1) preferred.
Strong command of Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Strong multitasking, organizational, and teamwork abilities.
