Capital One Canada is seeking a Manager, Corporate Strategy Analysis to join its Strategy & Business Development team in Toronto. This role offers a unique opportunity to drive growth, enhance profitability, and develop actionable strategies within Canada’s dynamic credit and banking landscape. Positioned at the intersection of strategic planning and analytics, the role combines rigorous data analysis with forward-thinking leadership to shape business outcomes.

The Manager will play a pivotal role in developing long-term strategic goals, identifying growth opportunities, and evaluating competitive market dynamics. This position requires strong analytical and business judgment, an ownership mindset, and the ability to collaborate across diverse teams, including Finance, Marketing, Tech, and Operations.

This is a full-time, permanent role with a hybrid work structure based in downtown Toronto, at 161 Bay Street (directly across from Union Station).


Key Responsibilities:

  • Strategic Leadership: Create and guide business strategies to drive long-term growth, profitability, and competitiveness

  • Business Ownership: Own the P&L of business cases and take responsibility for strategic planning within a 1–6 month time horizon

  • Execution & Delivery: Oversee and manage the sequencing of business initiatives and strategy execution across departments

  • Cross-functional Collaboration: Partner with internal teams across Capital One Canada and U.S. to align strategy and execution

  • Analytical Leadership: Drive data-backed decisions and solve business problems using quantitative and qualitative insights

  • Team Development: Potentially manage and mentor analysts; support talent development across the organization

  • Innovation & Adaptability: Operate effectively in a fluid, entrepreneurial environment and contribute to a culture of innovation

  • Market Evaluation: Assess competitive movements and emerging trends in Canadian financial services and credit sectors


Requirements:

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree (Master’s preferred)

  • Minimum 3 years of experience in quantitative analysis/financial modeling

  • Minimum 3 years of experience in qualitative analysis

  • At least 1 year of people management experience

  • At least 1 year of project management experience

  • Minimum 2 years of experience in market/competitive analysis

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Strategic decision-making experience using data analytics

  • Exposure to credit card or financial product domains

  • Background in management consulting or similar strategic roles

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to influence senior stakeholders

  • Leadership qualities with a clear results orientation and ability to thrive in dynamic environments
