Position Overview:
Phantom Screens is seeking a diligent and detail-oriented Corporate Accountant to join its Finance team. The successful candidate will work closely with the Controller, supporting day-to-day accounting functions and financial operations of both Phantom Screens International and Phantom Screens Lower Mainland. This hybrid position requires strong analytical skills, a proactive approach to financial problem-solving, and a commitment to continuous improvement within the Finance department.
Key Responsibilities:
📊 Financial Reporting & Analysis
Assist in the preparation of monthly financial statements and supporting schedules for Controller review
Analyze actual vs. budgeted expenditures and promptly report variances
Maintain fixed and intangible asset schedules, including depreciation records
Investigate and resolve general ledger discrepancies through the analysis of invoices, purchase orders, and journal entries
📁 Accounting Systems & Bookkeeping
Assist in the implementation and optimization of the financial accounting system
Prepare and maintain general ledger entries and assist in the production of financial reports for retail divisions
Utilize QuickBooks software to manage accounting functions for the Lower Mainland Corporate Distributorship
💰 Payroll & Benefits Reconciliation
Reconcile payroll transactions and annual T4s to the general ledger
Cross-check and reconcile monthly group benefits invoices with GL records
Provide support and backup for the bi-weekly payroll administration and associated functions
🔧 Departmental Support & Continuous Improvement
Contribute to process improvement initiatives aimed at increasing efficiency within the Finance team
Provide backup support across various Finance functions and assist with absence coverage for other team members
Participate in job-related training and professional development as required
Perform additional accounting and administrative duties as assigned
Bachelor of Commerce (BCom) with a concentration in accounting or equivalent qualification
Currently enrolled in or working towards CPA (Chartered Professional Accountant) designation
Equivalent combinations of education and relevant experience may also be considered
Experience in manufacturing, production, or supervisory roles will be considered an asset
Locally available candidates with legal entitlement to work in Canada will be prioritized
Demonstrated reliability, attention to detail, and strong collaborative and communication skills
