Klick, a leading health marketing and life sciences communications company, is looking for a Copy Supervisor with an Oncology specialization to join their dynamic and fast-growing creative team in Toronto. This role is ideal for experienced professionals who possess a deep understanding of oncology treatments and the healthcare ecosystem, and who are passionate about transforming complex medical content into engaging and compliant marketing narratives.

The Copy Supervisor will collaborate with art partners and cross-functional teams to develop promotional and advertising copy for oncology brands, ensuring alignment with brand strategy, compliance standards, and Klick’s creative vision. The role also entails leadership responsibilities including mentoring junior creatives and guiding campaign execution through all stages of development.

Key Responsibilities:

🟨 Oncology Expertise & Strategy

  • Apply in-depth knowledge of oncology therapeutic areas, treatments, and industry challenges.

  • Evaluate and craft brand messaging tailored for oncology audiences.

  • Ensure medical accuracy and alignment with the competitive oncology market.

🟨 Creative Development & Execution

  • Lead the creation of high-quality, compelling, and compliant copy for promotional materials.

  • Use storytelling and strategic messaging to enhance brand communication across media channels.

  • Partner with art teams to produce well-aligned visual and verbal concepts.

🟨 Innovation & Industry Trends

  • Propose new creative concepts for oncology campaigns that push boundaries while staying compliant.

  • Remain informed on trends in pharmaceutical marketing and cancer care communications.

🟨 Cross-functional Collaboration

  • Engage actively in brainstorming sessions and contribute oncology-specific insights.

  • Maintain consistent communication with internal teams and clients to ensure brand integrity.

🟨 Regulatory Adherence & Brand Compliance

  • Review all deliverables to ensure consistency with medical/legal/regulatory (MLR) standards.

  • Supervise content routing, print production, usage rights, and internal compliance protocols.

🟨 Leadership & Mentoring

  • Manage and mentor direct reports, providing oncology-focused career development and feedback.

  • Lead project teams through complex copy challenges while supporting individual growth.

🟨 Client Relations & Budget Oversight

  • Build and maintain strong client relationships, especially with oncology brands.

  • Monitor campaign budgets and proactively flag scope concerns.

🟨 Process Management

  • Work closely with Creative Shared Services to ensure seamless project flow and deadline adherence.

  • Adapt processes to meet oncology-specific compliance timelines and creative quality standards.

Required Skills:

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with a focus on medical complexity.

  • Ability to collaborate effectively with creative, medical, and regulatory teams.

  • Sound decision-making, leadership, and presentation capabilities.

  • Confidence in navigating heavily regulated environments and interpreting brand guidelines.

Education & Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Advertising, Marketing, Communications, Writing, or related field (preferred).

  • Additional certification in medical writing or oncology content is a plus.

  • 5+ years of marketing/advertising experience with at least 3 focused on oncology/cancer care content.

  • Experience with medical/legal/regulatory review processes.

  • Familiarity and comfort with integrating AI into content creation workflows is an asset.
