Description:

L'Association des Implantés Cochléaires du Québec (AICQ) is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Coordinator for their Montreal office. AICQ is a non-profit organization that advocates for the rights and support of individuals with cochlear implants, providing assistance both before and after surgery to children, adults, and their families. Additionally, AICQ promotes cochlear implants and related technologies.

The selected candidate will work under the authority of the General Director and will be responsible for the following tasks:

Services to Members:

  • Reception Management: Greet visitors, answer phone calls, and provide advice and information to members and the public.

  • Member Services Management: Assist members with their requests and inquiries.

  • Accommodation Management: Establish partnerships with institutions to accommodate individuals from outside the Montreal area.

  • Program Promotion and Management: Promote and manage the pairing and mentoring programs for members.

Activities and Community Life:

  • Plan, organize, implement, and evaluate activities such as conferences and coffee meetings, both in-person and virtually, for the benefit of members in Western Quebec.

Networking:

  • Collaborate with the General Director to develop and maintain relationships with hospitals in the Western Quebec sector.

  • Plan, organize, and evaluate the recruitment of volunteers for the Western region.

  • Work with the General Director to establish regional committees for areas including Montreal, Outaouais, Laval, Lanaudière, Laurentides, Montérégie, Abitibi-Témiscamingue, Nunavik, and Baie James.

Required Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Social Sciences, DEC in Social Work, or DEC in Specialized Education. Significant experience may substitute for academic qualifications.

  • Experience: At least 3 years in a similar role.

  • Skills:

    • Fluent in French (oral and written).

    • Fluent in English (oral and written).

    • Professional presentation and demeanor.

    • Empathy, determination, and sensitivity to the needs of hearing-impaired individuals.

    • Resourcefulness and strong organizational skills.

    • Team spirit and ability to work with volunteers.

    • Discretion and a sense of confidentiality.

Job Nature:

  • Full-time, 32 hours per week

  • Fully in-person

  • 3 weeks of annual vacation

  • Sick leave bank

  • Salary based on qualifications and experience
