Description:

As Controller, you will be responsible for the day-to-day leadership of the accounting function, ensuring accurate reporting, strong internal controls, and compliance across a growing, multi-entity, international business.

You will oversee core accounting processes, mentor team members, and partner closely with the CFO to support financial planning, operational decision-making, and technical initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

Accounting Leadership & Team Oversight

  • Provide direct leadership, mentorship, and oversight to the accounting team
  • Own and manage the accounting calendar, ensuring all weekly, monthly, and annual deadlines are consistently met
  • Act as the primary technical resource for complex accounting matters, including intercompany eliminations, multi-currency transactions, and inventory accounting
  • Strengthen processes, documentation, and internal controls as the organization continues to scale

Financial Reporting & Operational Finance

  • Lead the month-end close process and deliver accurate, GAAP-compliant financial reporting
  • Ensure timely preparation of management financial statements and supporting analyses
  • Maintain audit-ready records and ensure adherence to accounting standards
  • Partner with the CFO on budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning processes

Compliance & Technical Accounting

  • Serve as the internal lead for regulatory and compliance requirements, including insurance reporting, government filings, and technical documentation
  • Coordinate with external advisors on international tax compliance matters, including GST, VAT, and U.S. sales tax
  • Research and resolve complex accounting or regulatory questions independently
  • Present clear recommendations and solutions to senior leadership

What You Bring

  • 8+ years of progressive accounting experience, including leadership within an accounting function
  • CPA designation preferred, though equivalent depth of hands-on experience will be considered
  • Experience working in multi-entity, multi-currency, or international environments
  • Strong technical accounting expertise and problem-solving capabilities
  • A proactive, solutions-oriented mindset with the ability to operate independently
  • Comfort working in fast-moving, entrepreneurial, and fully remote environments
