Controller

Description:

The Controller will oversee all financial and accounting operations for the company, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and strategic insight. This role is ideal for a hands-on accounting professional with strong leadership skills and experience in construction or real estate development.

Key Responsibilities
 

• Oversee all accounting operations, including A/P, A/R, payroll, job costing, and general ledger.
• Prepare and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
• Manage project budgets, forecasts, and variance reports for multiple developments.
• Implement and maintain internal controls, accounting policies, and financial procedures.
• Coordinate annual audits, tax filings, and compliance reporting.
• Support executive leadership with strategic financial planning, cash flow management, and cost analysis.
• Oversee reporting and relationships with our Chartered Banks and other Financial Institutions.
• Supervise and mentor accounting staff; foster a culture of accuracy and accountability.
• Collaborate with construction managers, project managers, and sales teams to ensure financial visibility across all projects.
   

Qualifications
 

• Professional Accounting Designation (CPA)
• 5+ years of progressive accounting experience, including at least 3 years in construction or residential development.
• Strong knowledge of job cost accounting, WIP schedules, and revenue recognition.
• Proficiency with construction accounting software
• Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
