Description:
itec group has partnered with a global supplier of innovative material handling solutions and equipment. We are seeking a controls specialist for a major automation project. The role requires experience of PLC programming and commissioning, good problem-solving skills, ability to plan and work to tight schedules, and a customer focus.
Responsibilities:
- Develop control system architectures and designs based on project requirements.
- Program, configure, and integrate PLCs (Programmable Logic Controllers), HMIs (Human-Machine Interfaces), and SCADA (Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition) systems.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to commission new equipment and systems, ensuring proper functionality and performance.
- Conduct regular inspections and diagnostics to identify potential issues and implement preventive maintenance measures.
- Troubleshoot control system failures and implement corrective actions to minimize downtime.
- Optimize control algorithms and parameters to improve efficiency, productivity, and safety.
- Maintain accurate documentation, including wiring diagrams, schematics, and software versions.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree or diploma in Engineering, preferably in Electrical, Automation, or related field.
- Proven experience (5 years) in designing, programming, and troubleshooting control systems.
- Proficiency in PLC programming languages such as ladder logic, function block diagram, and structured text.
- Hands-on experience with HMI/SCADA software
- Ability and willingness to travel to North American client sites
