Contract Specialist

Description:

General Dynamics Mission Systems–Canada is seeking an Intermediate Contracts Specialist to join their Subcontracts team. In this role, you will play a critical part in supporting projects with inquiries related to commercial terms and subcontract management. Responsibilities will span from the initial project phase to contract closeout. Key duties include managing NDAs, bailment agreements, and collateral agreements; supporting bid opportunities with due diligence investigations and data collection; and working under management guidance to develop subcontract elements in commercial responses.

You will be expected to analyze facts, negotiate terms, manage contract changes, and assist in closeouts while producing commercial summary reviews of program status. The role requires contributing to negotiation strategies, validating financial and legal data, and acting as a company spokesperson on commercial matters with minimal oversight. Collaboration is a major aspect of this position, requiring coordination with internal departments, external partners, and vendors. Additionally, you will provide input on tools and reports for Commercial Services, help resolve issues, and contribute to process improvements. Administrative tasks and proactive problem-solving to anticipate commercial needs will also form part of your responsibilities.

Qualifications:

• Post-secondary degree in Business, Commerce, Law, or a related field.

• Minimum of 2 years of relevant experience in contracts or commercial management.

• Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build relationships at all organizational levels.

• Solid analytical, research, and attention-to-detail abilities.

• Excellent communication and customer service skills.

• Proficiency with MS Office applications.

• Knowledge of Canada’s Standard Acquisition Clauses and Conditions (SACC) Manual.

• Familiarity with intellectual property concepts and practices.

Security Requirements:
All applicants must meet the requirements of the Canadian Controlled Goods Program and obtain/maintain a Canadian government security clearance.
