The Consultant, IT Audit & Assurance role offers a dynamic and challenging career, focused on delivering value to clients through IT audit and assurance services. Consultants perform audits of controls, assess effectiveness according to audit frameworks, and utilize established tools and methodologies to plan, collect, and analyze data, and document findings. IT audit engagements span multiple industries and government sectors, covering IT general controls, third-party assurance (SOC 1, SOC 2), IT SOX/ICFR implementation and audits, and advisory projects.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead fieldwork for audits of IT controls as part of client engagements.

  • Assess IT systems and controls according to established frameworks.

  • Conduct IT risk consulting, including risk interviews, workshops, and policy development.

  • Support client risk mitigation strategies.

  • Stay updated on emerging technologies, industry trends, and leading IT audit practices.

  • Collaborate with teams to deliver client value and solutions.

  • Contribute to IT and business process control services, including third-party assurance and optimization.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • 1 to 3 years of experience in IT audit, IT internal controls, system audit, or related fields.

  • Knowledge of internal control frameworks (COSO, ITIL, COBIT).

  • Familiarity with application systems (SAP, Oracle, PeopleSoft), operating systems (UNIX, Windows, AS/400, zOS), databases (Oracle, SQL Server, Sybase), or telecommunications (Cisco, firewall, router, hub).

  • Completion or intention to complete a professional designation (CPA, CISA, CIA, or CISSP).

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in IT, Business, Commerce, or Accounting is an asset.

  • Experience auditing internal controls under regulatory standards (PCAOB, CPAB) is an asset.

  • Strong communication, team collaboration, and interpersonal skills.
