Description:
The Coordonnateur, Services de construction at Defence Construction Canada (CDC) is responsible for managing construction contracts of moderate complexity, professional services contracts, and services during construction projects to ensure compliance with contractual requirements. The role involves daily engagement and negotiations with contractors, consultants, and client-partners regarding work quality, interpretation of contract documents, changes to scope, review of periodic payment requests, and other relevant matters. The Coordinator manages risks associated with contract management within delegated authority, ensures compliance with service sector requirements, and integrates activities with site teams and other service sectors.
Key Responsibilities:
Manage contracts to ensure adherence to contractual requirements and quality standards.
Coordinate and resolve day-to-day contract issues.
Monitor and control project schedules.
Liaise with client-partner representatives regarding market issues, risks, and change orders.
Maintain accurate records of site activities, including photos and reports.
Collaborate with other service sectors and site teams as needed.
Establish and maintain effective relationships within CDC, with industry, client-partners, and stakeholders.
Ensure quality standards are met in line with CDC and client-partner expectations.
Manage contract-related risks.
Oversee financial aspects of contracts.
Coordinate construction reviews by consultants and third-party testing.
Ensure compliance with environmental, health, safety, and industrial security requirements.
Support or lead business expansion activities.
Perform other duties as required.
Skills & Competencies:
Knowledge of best practices, methods, trends, and legislation in construction.
Familiarity with construction products and materials.
Project management, contract management, and risk management principles.
Health and safety management.
Ability to use relevant software and operating systems.
Interpret construction plans and specifications.
Apply project, contract, and risk management techniques effectively.
Provide guidance and functional advice to employees and client-partners.
Education & Certification:
Minimum requirement: College diploma in engineering, applied sciences, or a related field, plus four years of relevant experience, or equivalent.
Asset: Certification in a relevant field (e.g., Certified Engineering Technologist).
Work Conditions:
Work primarily on construction sites, requiring basic safety equipment.
Occasional office work and travel may be required.

Eligibility:
Must be a Canadian citizen or permanent resident.
