Description:

Deloitte Canada is offering an exceptional opportunity for a motivated and experienced professional to join their FSI Regulatory Compliance team as a Consultant or Senior Consultant on a 12-month temporary contract. This hybrid role is based in Toronto, with the opportunity to contribute meaningfully to regulatory compliance, controls testing, and risk mitigation efforts across the financial services sector.

The successful candidate will work closely with clients to design, document, and test internal controls. This includes evaluating their effectiveness, ensuring compliance with regulations (such as SOX, OSFI, CIRO), and aligning with control frameworks such as COSO or COBIT.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design and document internal controls and compliance mechanisms

• Conduct detailed control testing, walkthroughs, and effectiveness assessments

• Identify weaknesses in control environments and recommend practical remediation

• Collaborate with clients on regulatory risk strategies and compliance monitoring

• Prepare professional reports and presentations summarizing findings and guidance

• Keep abreast of regulatory updates, frameworks, and industry best practices

• Interact with senior client stakeholders, contributing to meaningful outcomes in regulatory compliance

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field

• Preferred certifications: CPA, CIA, CISA

• Experience in internal control assessments and risk-based audits

• Strong knowledge of control frameworks (COSO, COBIT) and regulatory requirements

• Strong analytical and communication skills, including report writing

• Proficient in data analysis and audit tools

• Demonstrated ability to handle multiple projects and work under deadlines

• Team-oriented mindset with autonomy and accountability
