Compliance Data Governance Senior Analyst

 

Description:

BNP Paribas is seeking a Compliance Data Governance Senior Analyst to join its Americas Compliance COO organization based in Montreal. This is an exceptional opportunity within a globally recognized financial institution, ideal for professionals experienced in data governance, compliance, and analytics. The successful candidate will support various data governance initiatives for Americas Compliance and may also have leadership responsibilities if applicable.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct daily reviews of data quality monitoring reports, escalating issues as needed.

  • Investigate and analyze root causes of data issues and coordinate with IT to implement solutions.

  • Perform data profiling, lineage analysis, and completeness checks for key data elements (KDEs).

  • Maintain comprehensive cartography of data sources and related product transactions.

  • Serve as the liaison for compliance data issues across business functions and IT.

  • Prepare reports, metrics, and executive-level presentations highlighting data issues and business impacts.

  • Establish data governance controls and reconciliations.

  • Recommend automation solutions for routine business-as-usual (BAU) processes.

  • Optional: Manage a team of four analysts, offering coaching, direction, and support in data governance initiatives.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.

  • At least 7 years of experience in financial services, compliance, or regulatory roles.

  • Excellent analytical, investigative, and presentation skills.

  • Proficiency in SQL, data lineage concepts, ETL processes, and data profiling.

  • Experience with SharePoint; familiarity with Actimize, SMARTS, SWIFT, Alteryx, DataIQ, Collibra is a plus.

  • Ability to manage multiple initiatives, meet deadlines, and work independently and collaboratively.

  • Strong English language communication skills required due to interaction with international stakeholders.

Work Conditions:

  • Standard office working conditions (Monday to Friday).
