Community Health Nurse

The First Nations Health Authority (FNHA) is seeking a Community Health Nurse to join the Witset Health Center to enhance nursing services and provide comprehensive health support to the local community. This role focuses on delivering culturally safe, community-centered care to First Nations populations, supporting improved health outcomes and wellness through dedicated clinical and preventive services.

As a Community Health Nurse, your key responsibilities include:

• Leading immunization programs and providing full immunization competency services.

• Conducting TB testing and screening, STI management, prenatal and postnatal support, and health education for both men and women.

• Promoting community wellness through public health initiatives, primary care interventions, and patient education.

• Working collaboratively with the regional nursing team, community leaders, and other healthcare professionals.

• Maintaining accurate health records and adhering to FNHA policies and cultural safety practices.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing from a recognized university or equivalent education and experience.

• Current practicing registration with the British Columbia College of Nurses and Midwives (BCCNM).

• Basic Life Support Certification (Level C).

• Valid Class 5 BC Driver’s License.

• Completion of a recognized specialty nursing program is considered an asset.
