Description:
The First Nations Health Authority (FNHA) is currently seeking Community Health Nurses (CHNs) for various health centres across British Columbia. As the first Indigenous-led health authority in Canada, FNHA supports BC First Nations in their journey toward self-determined health and wellness.
This role involves delivering comprehensive nursing services centered on health promotion, disease prevention, and capacity building for individuals, families, and communities. The CHNs engage directly with community members to develop culturally relevant interventions that enhance overall health outcomes.
Key Responsibilities:
Deliver a full range of community health nursing services in health centres, homes, and community settings
Promote wellness and prevent illness through education, outreach, and advocacy
Collaborate with communities to design and implement culturally appropriate care plans
Foster individual, family, and community capacity to manage health and wellness
Maintain a non-emergency care focus—no on-call duties

Qualifications & Skills Required:
Bachelor’s degree in Nursing
Current registration with the British Columbia College of Nurses and Midwives (BCCNM)
Minimum 1 year of recent, relevant nursing experience in a point-of-care setting
Current CPR for Healthcare Providers (HCP)
Valid Class 5 Driver’s License
Deep understanding of First Nations cultural principles, protocols, and holistic wellness models
Compensation & Benefits:
Annual Salary Range: CAD 91,965 – CAD 110,933
Hourly Wage: CAD 48.41 – CAD 58.40
Monthly Salary Equivalent: CAD 7,663 – CAD 9,244
