Carrier Sekani Family Services (CSFS), a recognized leader in Indigenous health and family services, is seeking a highly motivated Communications Specialist – Special Projects to join its dedicated team in Prince George, BC. CSFS is known for its culturally centered approach and innovation, serving 11 member Nations with over 475 employees.

The Communications Specialist will play a vital role in supporting both internal and external communication efforts for CSFS. The role involves collaborating with multiple stakeholders including Indigenous communities, government bodies, advocacy groups, and the media. The specialist will be responsible for driving awareness, fostering engagement, and promoting the mission of CSFS through thoughtful, strategic communications.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist with communications related to various CSFS projects and services, targeting partners and public audiences.

• Support the execution of strategic communications aligned with CSFS’s operational priorities.

• Contribute to community relations, consultation initiatives, and health promotion campaigns.

• Provide communications assistance for internal and external projects, ensuring consistent messaging and engagement.

Qualifications & Skills Required:

• A Bachelor's degree in Journalism, Marketing, Communications, or a related field.

• Minimum of 5 years of professional experience in communications.

• Experience in healthcare, government, nonprofit, or Indigenous service sectors is considered beneficial.

• Accreditation or membership in communication professional bodies (e.g., IABC or CPRS) is an asset.

• Strong written and verbal communication skills, with cultural sensitivity and an understanding of Indigenous communities.
