Founded in 2015, the Front commun pour la transition énergétique (FCTÉ) brings together nearly 80 environmental, civic, union, community, and student organizations, collectively representing 1.8 million people. The organization is committed to a transformative ecological transition grounded in social justice. FCTÉ operates at the intersection of environmental, energy, economic, and social issues, aiming to foster collective efforts toward sustainable change.

FCTÉ is seeking a Communications Manager to lead and implement strategic communications that promote its mission, amplify its members’ voices, and increase visibility for its initiatives and positions.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with the coordination team and project managers on internal and external communications.

  • Maintain and update the organization's communication strategy.

  • Write, edit, and publish newsletters, press releases, and web content consistent with FCTÉ’s tone and image.

  • Support project leads with communications, media responses, and public relations.

  • Monitor member activities and support their visibility initiatives.

  • Manage social media accounts and content scheduling.

  • Supervise communication interns, if applicable.

  • Participate in relevant team meetings and contribute to broader organizational tasks.


Qualifications:

  • University degree and at least 3 years of relevant communications experience in a complex setting.

  • Strong writing and content standardization skills.

  • Practical knowledge of digital content creation and social media platforms.

  • Experience working in collective and collaborative processes.

  • Deep understanding of climate justice and social equity issues, and commitment to ecological causes.

  • Experience in public and media relations is an asset.

  • Ability to manage priorities, show initiative, and work autonomously and in teams.


Technical Skills:

  • Proficiency in: Canva, Google Workspace (Docs, Sheets, etc.), WordPress

  • Knowledge of other graphic design tools is an asset.


Language Requirements:

  • Excellent written and spoken French; familiarity with inclusive language.

  • Knowledge of English is required.


Working Conditions:

  • Employment Type: Permanent, salaried

  • Start Date: As soon as possible (training period included)

  • Work Schedule: 30 hours per week

  • Salary: $27.35 to $33.04/hour
