Communications Content Specialist

 

Description:

The content specialist works collaboratively with fellow members of the Alumni & Development communications team, as well as colleagues in Alumni Relations, Development and University Communications and Marketing.

On rare occasions this role may require some work off-campus or during evenings and weekends.

Job Requirements

This position requires:

  • 2+ years’ experience in a communications or marketing role
  • Bachelor’s degree or Certificate in Communications, Journalism, Public Relations or a related field.


An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.

 


Knowledge requirements include:

  • Social Media media channels and related tools, including Hootsuite.
  • Proficiency with computer applications including MS Office, Adobe Creative Suite, Video and photo editing software and Content Management Systems (preferably Cascade)
  • Communications and marketing ethics and best practices


Competency requirements include:

  • Superior time management, organizational skills and ability to meet deadlines
  • An analytical mind and ability to think critically.
  • Expertise in video and photo production and editing
  • Exceptional writing and interpersonal communication skills
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
  • Works well under pressure and meets tight deadlines.
  • Passionate and creative with regards to communications tactics and new trends.
  • Meticulous attention to detail.
