Description:

The Association paritaire pour la santé et la sécurité du travail du secteur minier (APSM) is seeking a Communications and Operations Officer to temporarily join its team for a 16-month maternity leave replacement. APSM is a joint sector-based association dedicated to supporting Quebec’s mining sector in workplace health and safety. The organization is based in Québec City and offers a hybrid working environment.

Reporting to the Communications and Member Experience Coordinator, the selected candidate will actively contribute to promoting APSM’s activities, enhancing operational procedures, and participating in diverse projects across departments. This is an exceptional opportunity for a creative and versatile professional to grow their skills within a dynamic and innovative team, while gaining industry insight into Quebec’s mining sector.

Key Responsibilities:

Communications & Content Creation

  • Draft newsletters, articles, social media posts, and other content in collaboration with the communications team.

  • Design appealing visual materials using tools such as Canva, WordPress, PowerPoint, etc.

  • Proofread and enhance all publications to ensure high-quality French language use, layout consistency, and adherence to brand guidelines.

Member Experience & Client Service

  • Act as the first point of contact for the general email inbox, managing inquiries from members.

  • Assess member needs and redirect requests to appropriate team members efficiently.

Operational & Collaborative Support

  • Assist prevention advisors in creating tools, guides, blog posts, and training materials.

  • Provide administrative support across the team.

  • Support the planning and logistics of regional symposiums and events.

Technological Innovation & Digital Tools

  • Manage logistics of the online training portal.

  • Collect data and generate statistical reports.

  • Maintain and update website content (WordPress).

Qualifications:

  • Degree in Communications or another relevant field.

  • Minimum of 1 year of relevant experience.

  • Proficiency with Office 365, Canva, WordPress.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in French; English is an asset.

  • Creativity, autonomy, attention to detail, and strong organizational skills.

  • Excellent interpersonal skills and team-oriented mindset.

  • Interest in content design and visual communication.

  • Asset: Knowledge of occupational health and safety or the mining industry.

Working Conditions & Benefits:

  • 16-month temporary position (maternity leave coverage).

  • 35 hours/week with a hybrid work schedule.

  • Monthly salary between CAD 4583 and CAD 5000.

  • 4 weeks of annual vacation.
