Description:

• Establish, build, and strengthen genuine partnerships with VCF project leads and senior leadership to “stay in the know” of outcomes and impacts to provide content leadership in every facet of communications, advocacy, and media relations
• Develop and maintain communications policies and procedures to ensure brand consistency, risk management and effective communications practices
• Author and maintain an ongoing list of organizational position statements
• Continuously look to mitigate bias in communications in accordance with VCF’s commitment to Truth and Reconciliation, Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion
• Monitor legislative, policy and regulatory activity at all levels of government that may affect the work of VCF and advise senior leadership and staff about relevant policy proposals and actions
• Develop and implement an all levels of government strategy and engagement plan that includes drafting government correspondence inclusive of position papers
• Working with the Senior Manager of Research and Evaluation to determine the larger research projects that can be distilled from within the work, and rich data sets, of VCF that show macro trends and societal impacts to support the overall efforts of VCF, including relevant policy proposals
• Manage, coach, mentor and collaborate with Senior Manager of Research and Evaluation, Senior Manager of Communications and team to set and evaluate performance related to communications strategies, analyze potential impacts of legislation and policy activities on VCF and advise and adjust as needed
• Maintain your role specific social media presence in accordance with VCF social media policies and attend related industry events for purposes of increasing organizational brand awareness
• Act as point-of-contact for external agencies, develop and manage these relationships
• Provide leadership for the development, implementation, and ongoing maintenance of VCF brand, positioning and graphic standards
• Oversee the development of all written communications, taking into consideration imagery, message and positioning, vision, values, goals, priorities, and accomplishments
• Provide leadership, as part of a team, on crisis communications and organizational reputational issues, leading messaging, and responses to internal and external community, including media
