Communication Officer

 

Description:

Université Laval, located in the heart of Quebec City and renowned for its innovation, research excellence, and higher education, is seeking a Communication Officer for its École supérieure d’études internationales (ESEI). As a francophone institution, it offers graduate-level programs with an interdisciplinary approach to international studies, including Master’s and Doctoral degrees, as well as intensive training for professionals. The role involves producing, managing, and promoting communication content to support the school’s operations and visibility.

Reporting to the coordinator of administration, you will be responsible for creating and editing various communication materials (e.g., written content, video, photography, audio, and graphic design) for multiple platforms, including social media and the school’s website. You will also coordinate the promotion of events and activities, assist in event execution, and monitor trends in your field to improve content and outreach.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Content Creation: Design, produce, write, translate, revise, and edit content (written, video, photography, audio, graphic design) for various communication platforms such as social media, website, and course sites.

  • Social Media Coordination: Coordinate event publicity on platforms like Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, YouTube, and engage with online communities.

  • Event Support: Assist in the organization and execution of events, training sessions, and activities related to ESEI.

  • Market Research: Stay updated on the latest trends and news relevant to the field and identify new opportunities for the school and institution.

  • Promotion: Create promotional content (written and visual) to promote the ESEI and its programs.

Preferred Qualifications and Skills:

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Communication, Journalism, or a relevant field.

  • Experience: At least two years of relevant experience in a similar role.

  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Premiere or Final Cut Pro, Adobe InDesign, Canva, Mailchimp, Drupal, or other CMS platforms.

  • Languages: Excellent command of both French and English.

  • Additional Knowledge: Interest or knowledge in politics and international studies would be an asset.
