Description:

Telio Assurances is recruiting a commercially minded Commercial Business Insurance Broker / Producer to develop and manage a portfolio of commercial clients from their Québec and Lévis offices. This is a hands-on sales and service role that combines proactive business development with technically rigorous risk assessment and policy placement for entrepreneurs and companies.

You will be responsible for originating new business through direct solicitation, referrals and industry networking while simultaneously maintaining long-term trusted relationships with existing clients. The role demands commercial acumen, strong negotiation skills with insurers, meticulous attention to documentation and an ability to design tailored insurance programs that appropriately transfer client risk.

Daily activities include meeting prospects and clients to assess exposures, preparing and presenting customized proposals, negotiating terms and pricing with insurers, and managing policy renewals and endorsements. You will collaborate closely with account managers and administrative staff to deliver end-to-end client service, and you will be expected to contribute to Telio’s growth by generating leads and participating in industry events.

Key Responsibilities (expanded)

• Proactively develop new commercial client relationships through outreach, referrals and participation in industry events.

• Conduct thorough risk assessments for business clients, identifying exposures and recommending appropriate coverages.

• Prepare competitive submissions and quotes; negotiate policy terms, conditions and pricing with insurers and underwriters.

• Manage client renewals, endorsements, claims support and ongoing advisory service to maintain retention and satisfaction.

• Work with account managers and administrative staff to ensure accurate policy administration and timely follow-up.

• Maintain and grow a book of business; identify cross-sell and upsell opportunities.

• Keep abreast of market trends, insurer appetite, and evolving exposures affecting commercial clients.

• Ensure confidentiality, ethical conduct and compliance with regulatory and company standards.

• Participate in continuous professional development and internal training programs.

Qualifications & Requirements

• Valid commercial damage insurance broker license (Permis de courtier en assurance de dommages des entreprises) — mandatory.

• Minimum 3 years of hands-on experience in commercial insurance within a brokerage environment.

• Demonstrated track record in business development and portfolio growth.

• Experience using industry systems (EPIC, Policy Works are assets) and proficiency with Microsoft Office 365.

• Strong analytical skills, ability to synthesize risk information, and excellent verbal/written communication.

• Autonomy, rigor, discretion, client-service orientation and the ability to build trust with business owners.

• Demonstrated negotiation skills and commercial judgement.

• Ability to participate in industry events and represent Telio professionally.

Work Schedule & Benefits (summary)

• 35 hours per week (Mon–Fri; Fridays end at 16:00).
