Description:
Reporting to the Director, Cyber Security & Infrastructure, the Cloud & Infrastructure Architect is responsible for the design, governance, and continuous evolution of UFA’s enterprise cloud and infrastructure platforms. This senior technical leadership role ensures that UFA’s technology environments are secure, scalable, resilient, and aligned with organizational priorities.
The Cloud & Infrastructure Architect partners closely with Infrastructure, Cybersecurity, Enterprise Applications, and business stakeholders to deliver modern, supportable, and secure technology solutions. The role also plays a key part in advancing infrastructure modernization through automation, Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC), operational excellence, and cloud-first strategies.
Responsibilities
- Lead the design, implementation, and evolution of UFA’s enterprise cloud and infrastructure architecture, ensuring solutions are secure, scalable, resilient, and aligned with business objectives.
- Provide technical leadership and architectural guidance across Azure cloud services, Microsoft 365, networking, virtualization, identity and access management, cybersecurity, endpoint management, backup/recovery, and core infrastructure platforms.
- Develop and maintain infrastructure standards, technical roadmaps, architecture documentation, and operational governance practices to support modernization and operational excellence.
- Partner with Cybersecurity, Enterprise Applications, and Operations teams to ensure technology solutions are supportable, compliant, and aligned with enterprise security and operational requirements.
- Evaluate emerging technologies and lead modernization initiatives focused on automation, Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC), operational efficiency, resiliency, and continuous improvement across the enterprise environment.
- Support major incident, problem, disaster recovery, and operational resiliency activities, including coordination with internal teams and external vendors during critical events and escalations.
- Mentor and provide technical leadership to infrastructure and operational teams while collaborating with business and IT stakeholders to align technology decisions with strategic priorities.
- Perform other related duties and responsibilities as assigned.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related discipline, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- 10+ years of progressive IT infrastructure experience, with at least 5 years in enterprise infrastructure architecture and cloud platform design.
- Demonstrated experience designing and supporting enterprise infrastructure solutions in hybrid and cloud-first environments, preferably Microsoft Azure and Microsoft 365.
- Strong technical knowledge across multiple domains including Azure cloud services and platform architecture, networking, virtualization, identity & access management (Entra ID), endpoint management, backup & recovery, monitoring, and cyber security.
- Solid understanding of operational resiliency, disaster recovery, ITIL practices, and infrastructure risk management.
- Excellent communication, documentation, stakeholder engagement, and collaboration skills.
- Proven ability to translate business requirements into practical, supportable technical solutions.
- Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving capabilities.
- Experience with Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) tools such as Terraform, Bicep, or ARM templates, and familiarity with code-first infrastructure management practices will be considered an asset.
- Azure Solutions Architect Expert certifications or other relevant industry certifications will also be considered an asset
