As a Server at Clockwork, you will play a vital role in shaping the dining experience for guests, acting as a personal ambassador of the hotel’s legacy of luxury. You will provide friendly, efficient, and knowledgeable service, ensuring every guest feels valued and cared for. This role requires deep knowledge of the menu, beverage offerings, and guest service standards, along with a strong ability to anticipate and exceed guest expectations.

Key Responsibilities:

• Represent the Fairmont Royal York with professionalism, warmth, and courtesy at all times.

• Provide personal, attentive, and efficient service, ensuring guest satisfaction exceeds expectations.

• Demonstrate full knowledge of menus, dietary restrictions, garnishes, preparation methods, and promotional offerings to confidently recommend and upsell items.

• Serve and clear dishes, present checks discreetly, and process payments accurately.

• Resolve guest concerns by taking immediate corrective action to ensure guest satisfaction.

• Support co-workers to maintain smooth operations and a seamless guest experience.

• Handle cash/non-cash transactions and shift-end financial reporting as per hotel procedures.

• Participate in team meetings, pre-shift briefings, and ongoing training programs.

• Follow all health, hygiene, and ALL Safe Standards for guest and staff safety.

• Uphold alcohol service procedures and all LQA standards.

• Understand recycling programs, equipment usage, hotel outlets, and service protocols.

• Work scheduled shifts including evenings, weekends, and holidays.

• Perform additional duties as assigned to ensure service excellence.

Qualifications:

• Prior restaurant or food & beverage service experience required.

• Smart Serve certification mandatory.

• OTEC certificate considered an asset.

• Previous unionized work environment experience preferred.

• Strong interpersonal skills, customer service orientation, and teamwork abilities.

• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods throughout the shift.

• Frequent lifting and carrying of up to 50 lbs.

• Regular kneeling, pushing, pulling, lifting, and movement across stairs and ramps.
