The Research Institute of the McGill University Health Centre (RI-MUHC) is seeking dedicated and skilled Clinical Research Nurses to join their occasional pool supporting the Centre for Innovative Medicine (CIM) in Montreal. This world-class biomedical research institution is at the forefront of patient-centered medical innovation and translational research. Successful candidates will play an essential role in supporting clinical trials and advancing the frontiers of healthcare through research excellence.
This position offers a unique opportunity to work within a specialized clinical research environment, providing flexible, as-needed support to ongoing and new research studies that often extend beyond regular working hours. Nurses in this pool will directly contribute to the success of clinical trials conducted at Canada’s only 5000 m² facility exclusively dedicated to clinical research — the Centre for Innovative Medicine, located at the Glen Site Hospital.
The RI-MUHC is the research arm of the McGill University Health Centre, affiliated with the Faculty of Medicine at McGill University. It is supported by the Fonds de recherche du Québec - Santé (FRQS) and is recognized globally for its leadership in biomedical, clinical, and health research.

Perform thorough clinical evaluations of patient health situations.
Provide and document care planning and prioritization for research participants.
Administer treatments and monitor patient outcomes as per clinical trial protocols.
Communicate effectively with patients, families, and interdisciplinary teams.
Ensure compliance with research and ethical standards during all procedures.
Support CIM full-time nursing staff during extended or after-hours trial activities.
Execute any additional duties as directed by the immediate supervisor.
Education: Diploma of College Studies (DEC) in Nursing.
Experience: 2–5 years of relevant nursing experience in critical care, ICU, or infusion therapy.
Certification: Member in good standing with the Ordre des infirmières et infirmiers du Québec (OIIQ).
CPR Certification must be current and valid.
Excellent French and English communication (spoken and written).
Strong interpersonal and collaboration abilities.
Proven capacity to work independently or within interdisciplinary teams.
Exceptional organizational and prioritization skills.
Demonstrated leadership, health promotion, and maintenance competencies.
Ability to adapt to variable and flexible work schedules.
Status: Temporary, occasional (on-call, as required) – no guaranteed hours.
Schedule: Variable, primarily outside regular working hours to support clinical trial needs.
Worksite: Glen Site Hospital, Montreal.
Compensation: $24.40/hour – $56.82/hour, based on experience and qualifications.
3 paid sick days per year (including one personal day).
RREGOP Government Pension Plan (Defined Benefit Plan).
Vacation prorated according to salary and hours worked.
5.3% of gross earnings added to pay in lieu of statutory holidays.
