BDC, Canada’s leading development bank for entrepreneurs, is seeking a Client Partner for its Advisory Services team in Western Canada. This role goes beyond selling services; it involves supporting Canadian entrepreneurs to thrive by understanding their business challenges and offering tailored advisory solutions. The Client Partner serves as a trusted advisor, collaborating with internal teams to ensure impactful outcomes and long-term client relationships.
Key responsibilities include:
Building and nurturing a strong pipeline of client opportunities by engaging with entrepreneurs and understanding their business goals.
Using strategic insights and diagnostic tools to uncover client needs and recommend tailored advisory solutions.
Leading the client experience from first contact to final delivery, ensuring smooth handoffs, clear proposals, and measurable outcomes.
Acting as a trusted advisor, aligning guidance with clients’ broader business strategies.
Collaborating with internal teams across Advisory Services and Financing to deliver seamless solutions.
Staying informed on market trends, regional business dynamics, and emerging client needs.
Promoting BDC’s full suite of services to help clients unlock more value through cross-functional collaboration.
Qualifications and Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in business, commerce, or a related field; MBA is a plus.
7+ years of experience in business development, consulting, or professional services.
Proven track record of meeting or exceeding sales targets.
Experience working with SMEs or as an entrepreneur across diverse industries.
Strong business acumen, strategic thinking, emotional intelligence, and ability to influence.
Excellent communication, negotiation, and collaboration skills.
Experience in advisory roles is an asset.
