Description:

The Materials Quality Control Intern will support the Materials Department by performing quality control tests on construction materials, collaborating with project teams, ensuring proper equipment calibration, and applying safety and environmental protocols. The role offers hands-on experience in materials engineering and the opportunity to contribute to innovative infrastructure projects.

Key Responsibilities:

• Ensure compliance of aggregates, concrete, asphalt, and related materials used on-site.

• Perform on-site quality control tests for concrete (air, slump, temperature), granular materials (compaction, base checks), and asphalt (temperature, joints, application rate).

• Report discrepancies via non-conformity memos and complete site intervention reports.

• Work closely with the technical project team to meet site requirements.

• Calibrate site equipment for accurate measurement and results.

• Follow all health, safety, and environmental procedures.

Qualifications:

• Currently pursuing a DEC in civil engineering, forestry, mineral processing, or metallurgy.

• Good knowledge of French.

• Valid driver’s license at the start date.

• Access to a personal vehicle (mileage reimbursed).

Desired Characteristics:

• Ability to work independently and in a team.

• Ability to lift loads up to 25 kg.

• Available for varied shifts (day/evening/night/weekends).

• Willingness to work on remote sites (asset).

• ASP Construction card (asset).

• ACI certification (asset).
