Avicenna Academy Islamic School is seeking dedicated and passionate Classroom Teachers to join our team. Our school is located in Winnipeg South and we are committed to providing quality education within an Islamic environment. We welcome applications from licensed teachers in Manitoba, as well as those who have applied for their teaching certificates and are awaiting a decision.
The ideal candidate for this position will be warm and welcoming and will enjoy working with a team of professionals to provide a stimulating, educational and fun classroom environment for our students. The candidate does not need to have knowledge of the Islamic faith to apply but this will be an asset. Please see below for qualifications and requirements.
Qualifications:
- Hold a valid teaching license in Manitoba/ another province OR have applied for a teaching license and are awaiting a decision.
- Demonstrate a strong commitment to providing a holistic education that integrates cultural and moral values into the curriculum.
- Excellent knowledge of the Manitoba curriculum and the ability to design and implement effective lesson plans.
- Outstanding communication skills with the ability to effectively engage with students, parents/guardians, and colleagues.
- Ability to differentiate instruction to meet the diverse learning needs of students.
- Excellent classroom management skills to establish a positive and inclusive learning environment.
- Strong knowledge of educational technology tools and their integration into the classroom.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail for maintaining accurate student records.
- Flexibility, adaptability, and a willingness to collaborate and learn from colleagues.
- Prior experience in an Islamic school or knowledge of Islamic education is an asset.
- Willingness to work in a growing school environment.
Responsibilities:
- Create a nurturing and inclusive classroom environment that nurtures cultural and moral values.
- Develop and implement engaging lesson plans that meet the Manitoba curriculum standards.
- Utilize various teaching strategies and instructional methods to cater to the diverse learning needs of students.
- Foster a positive and respectful classroom atmosphere that promotes student engagement, participation, and collaboration.
- Assess student progress regularly through formative and summative assessments, and provide constructive feedback to students and parents/guardians.
- Maintain accurate and organized student records, including attendance, grades, and individualized education plans (IEPs) if applicable.
- Collaborate with colleagues and actively participate in professional development activities to enhance teaching practices and stay updated with educational trends and advancements.
- Communicate effectively with parents/guardians regarding student progress, behavior, and other pertinent information.
- Establish effective classroom management strategies to ensure a safe and conducive learning environment.
- Adhere to the school's policies, procedures, and code of conduct.
- Report to the School Principal and collaborate with other staff members to support the school's mission and vision.
