Classroom Teacher

Description:

St John Vianney’s is seeking an enthusiastic and suitably qualified teacher for a part-time classroom teaching position (0.20 FTE), commencing Term 1, 2026. The role involves teaching a Year 3-4 classroom one day per week (Friday), supporting the values and ethos of Catholic Education, and providing a rich and rewarding educational experience to students.

Key Responsibilities:

• Deliver high-quality classroom instruction to Year 3-4 students

• Support the Catholic Education values and ethos

• Utilize data to inform teaching and learning

• Build positive, supportive relationships with students, parents, and colleagues

• Work collaboratively within a team-based teaching environment

• Apply knowledge of Google applications in teaching

• Adapt teaching to support EAL learners

• Commit to ongoing professional learning and child safety initiatives

Qualifications:

• VIT registration

• Current Police Check

• RE Accreditation (or willingness to complete)

• Current First Aid Certificate (or willingness to complete)

Desired Characteristics:

• Knowledge of Explicit Instruction and the Science of Learning/Reading (favourable but not essential)

• Strong interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills

• Initiative and commitment to professional growth

• Sound understanding of Religious Education in the primary school context

Additional Requirements:

• Understanding and commitment to child safety

• Ability to work one day per week (Friday)
