Claims Consultant

Description:

Aon is seeking a Claims Consultant (Marine) to join its Toronto office. In this full-time, on-site role, you will advocate for corporate clients by managing the complete claims lifecycle – from reporting and analysis to negotiation and resolution. Your mission will be to protect client interests, interpret complex marine insurance policies, and build effective relationships with insurers and adjusters.

You will serve as a vital link between Aon's clients and insurers, providing expert guidance throughout the claims process. Your primary focus will be on marine commercial claims, including cargo, transportation, logistics, hull, machinery, and protection and indemnity (P&I). This position offers a unique opportunity to support major clients in the maritime and logistics sectors while contributing to the overall success of Aon's client service program.

Key Responsibilities:

• Act as a dedicated advocate for clients, guiding them through the entire claims process

• Manage reporting, documentation, and resolution of marine insurance claims

• Triaging and obtaining claims information, and communicating effectively with insurers

• Provide expert policy interpretation and guidance to clients

• Build strong partnerships with insurers to achieve positive claim outcomes

• Establish claims protocols for key accounts and update claims status regularly

• Collaborate with internal stakeholders and contribute to continuous service improvement

Ideal Candidate Profile:

• At least 5 years of experience in marine insurance claims

• Proficient in cargo, transportation & logistics claims; knowledge of hull and P&I is an asset

• Excellent negotiation and policy interpretation skills

• Team-oriented with strong interpersonal skills

• Effective verbal and written communicator with presentation expertise

• Bilingualism (French or other languages) is a plus

• Actively pursuing or possessing professional designations such as CIP, FCIP, or CRM
