Description:

The Canadian Mental Health Association Lambton Kent (CMHA LK) is seeking a strategic, purpose-driven Chief Executive Officer (CEO) to provide visionary leadership for this community-based non-profit organization dedicated to mental health and addictions services across Lambton and Kent counties. Reporting to the Board of Directors, the CEO will be responsible for overall organizational leadership, ensuring alignment with the mission, strategy, and community needs.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Leading operational planning, aligning strategic priorities with execution, and fostering accountability and continuous improvement.

  • Championing mental health and addictions awareness, building partnerships with clients, healthcare providers, Indigenous communities, and other stakeholders.

  • Promoting equitable access to care and advancing integrated health system solutions.

  • Cultivating an inclusive, high-performing workplace culture focused on staff development and innovation.

  • Providing oversight of risk management, program quality, regulatory compliance, and financial stewardship.

  • Serving as Secretary to the Board, supporting governance, policy development, and fiscal planning.

  • Overseeing accreditation processes to maintain exemplary organizational standing.

  • Enhancing organizational influence through community engagement and collaborative leadership.


Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree in Health, Social Work, Public Administration, Business Administration, or related field, or equivalent education and experience.

  • 10+ years of senior leadership experience with a record of organizational growth and transformation in healthcare, social services, or mental health.

  • Experience working with governance boards, strategy development, and policy alignment.

  • In-depth knowledge of Ontario’s mental health and addictions system, community care models, and integrated partnerships such as Ontario Health Teams.

  • Proven ability to build strong relationships with government, healthcare partners, Indigenous communities, and the non-profit sector.

  • Collaborative leadership style emphasizing transparency, accountability, and values-based decisions.

  • Strong communication, advocacy, stakeholder engagement, and media relations skills.

  • Sound financial management experience including budgeting and funding strategies.

  • Valid Ontario driver’s license and reliable transportation for regional travel.
