As an AI Tutor – Chemistry Specialist, you will play a critical role in training and refining AI systems designed for chemical sciences. Your work will involve using proprietary tools to annotate data, provide feedback, and ensure the generation of high-quality, well-curated datasets that improve AI performance and understanding in the chemistry domain. You will collaborate with technical and scientific teams to solve complex chemistry-related problems and assist in developing multimodal AI training models through textual, audio, and visual data.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide accurate annotations, labels, and feedback on chemical sciences datasets using Mercor’s proprietary software.

• Ensure high-quality and reliable data output to enhance AI model performance.

• Collaborate with engineers and researchers to refine and develop AI training tools.

• Analyze and solve intricate chemical problems, leveraging your domain expertise.

• Support AI model development through multimodal input methods, including text, audio, and video analysis.

• Adapt to evolving project instructions and maintain accuracy in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.

Qualifications:
Required:

• Master’s or PhD in Chemistry or related discipline.

• Strong expertise in one or more chemistry subfields (Organic, Physical, Analytical, etc.).

• Excellent written and verbal communication in English.

• Strong research, analytical, and problem-solving skills.

• Ability to work autonomously with sound professional judgment.

• Genuine enthusiasm for scientific innovation and AI technology.

Preferred:

• At least one first-author publication in a peer-reviewed journal.

• Prior experience as an AI Tutor, academic professor, or research mentor.

• Experience in scientific communication, technical writing, or journalism.

Compensation & Benefits:

• Contractor role paid hourly at $45–$100/hour.

• Weekly payments via Stripe Connect.
