Cardiologist

Description:

The Hospital for Sick Children (SickKids) is seeking a Staff Paediatric Cardiologist with a subspecialty in Cardiovascular Magnetic Resonance (CMR) to join the Labatt Family Heart Centre. SickKids is one of the world’s largest and most respected paediatric healthcare centres, dedicated to children and their families. This role combines clinical care, research, and education in paediatric CMR, with potential involvement in other imaging modalities as appropriate.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead the paediatric CMR program while delivering excellent clinical care.

• Conduct and interpret clinical paediatric CMR examinations.

• Teach fellows and provide mentorship in the field of paediatric CMR.

• Undertake innovative and impactful research aligned with the Heart Centre’s goals.

• Provide additional clinical service in general inpatient and outpatient cardiology as needed.

• Contribute to the integration of research, academic performance, and clinical care in the Heart Centre.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

• MD, MBBS, or equivalent medical degree.

• Subspecialty training in paediatric cardiac imaging; expertise in CMR mandatory.

• Certification or eligibility for certification by the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada, or equivalent qualifications.

• Licensure or eligibility for licensure with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Ontario.

• Eligibility for an academic appointment at the University of Toronto.

• Proficiency in English.

• Leadership ability for potential Section Head responsibilities within CMR.
