Business Systems Analyst

Description:

Iris Software Inc., a leading IT services provider, is currently seeking an experienced Business Systems Analyst (BSA) specializing in Portfolio Management for a long-term contract position. The role is with one of the Top 5 Banks in Canada, headquartered in Toronto and known for serving over 17 million clients worldwide with comprehensive banking, investment, asset management, and financial risk management services.

This position is a hybrid role based in Toronto, ON, and offers the opportunity to work with a globally recognized financial institution within a dynamic and collaborative environment. The successful candidate will have strong experience in business systems analysis, data handling, and portfolio management concepts.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead and conduct requirements elicitation, analysis, documentation, and stakeholder communication.

• Collaborate effectively with developers, solution architects, QE teams, and business partners.

• Perform SQL-based data analysis and data mapping to support system functionality and enhancements.

• Work on portfolio management-related projects, including areas such as portfolio composition, return on risk (ROR), asset classes, and discrepancy resolution.

• Support migration projects by helping define requirements and transition plans.

Key Requirements:

• 5+ years of experience as a Business Systems Analyst in financial or banking sectors.

• Proven ability in requirements gathering, documentation, and stakeholder engagement.

• Strong working knowledge of SQL, data mapping, and analytical data handling.

• Solid understanding of Portfolio Management principles, including experience with performance metrics such as ROR, asset class allocations, and portfolio composition discrepancies.

• Excellent communication skills for interfacing with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.

Nice to Have:

• CFA certification or progress toward CFA designation.

• Experience with migration projects involving system upgrades or data transformations.
