As a key member of the Workday Support Team, the Business Solutions Advisor (Finance) is the expert resource for Finance related Workday functionality. They are responsible for the configuration and maintenance of Workday, the College’s cloud-based HR, Payroll, and Finance software system. The incumbent is expected to provided product and configuration knowledge to support end-users, develop options to challenges presented by the business owners and implement appropriate solutions. Working with a high degree of confidentiality and in collaboration with the Finance teams including Operational Accounting, Accounts Payable, Procurement and Treasury, the incumbent will also ensure that changes to Workday do not compromise authorized access to financial, employee , compensation, and other sensitive documents and information that is stored in the Workday platform.

The incumbent is expected to remain current with new Workday functionality and best practices and pro-actively identifies opportunities for enhancing the user experience and driving the continuous improvement of end to end Workday business processes. They will also serve as a backup resource in other functional areas of the Workday platform.

Required Qualifications:

  • Minimum three (3) year diploma/degree in the areas of Technology or Business/Finance;

  • Minimum five (5) years experience working with and leading to advanced knowledge in the Finance aspects of enterprise resource planning systems (human resource, finance, payroll) and related business applications;

  • A minimum of one (1) year experience with Workday configuration with specialty knowledge in the Finance modules covering: financial accounting, banking and settlement, procurement, customer accounts, supplier accounts (includes Accounts Payable), expenses (including credit cards) and taxes is preferred. Experience with Adaptive Planning would be considered an asset;

  • A minimum of five (5) years of experience in business analysis, including eliciting, understanding, and documenting business requirements;

  • Experience in research and analysis to support a best practice approach to future state processes;

  • Experience in test planning, developing and documenting test scripts, supporting and participating in testing;

  • Experience providing input for various change management and communication activities, including creating training materials and user guides, as well as identifying and supporting readiness activities;

  • Strong time management skills including setting tasks, providing time estimates, determining priorities and tracking progress towards completion;

  • Strong technical, problem resolution and analytical skills;

  • Excellent interpersonal and collaboration skills;

  • Proven written and oral communication skills;

  • Extraordinarily detail-oriented.
