Our Client is a Canadian engineering and manufacturing company specializing in the design and assembly of industrial electrical control panels and automation systems. They support clients across sectors such as manufacturing, energy, and infrastructure, delivering highly customized solutions tailored to complex operational needs.

Building their reputation on quality, flexibility, and responsiveness, the company is currently in a growth phase and expanding its commercial footprint across Ontario, with plans for broader national expansion.

 

The Opportunity

Our Client is seeking a Business Development Leader to drive new business acquisition within the industrial control panel and electrical solutions space.

This is a highly strategic, “hunter”-focused role where success depends on the ability to leverage existing industry relationships, open doors, and secure new projects. You will play a key role in expanding the company’s presence across new accounts and markets.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Drive new business development, focused on relevant business opportunities
  • Build and maintain a strong pipeline of qualified projects within target industries
  • Leverage an existing network to generate leads and secure new contracts
  • Develop relationships with EPCs, industrial contractors, system integrators, and OEMs
  • Lead early-stage discussions, positioning, and proposal efforts
  • Collaborate with internal engineering and production teams
  • Represent the company in client meetings, site visits, and industry events

 

Success Metrics (First 6 Months)

  • Build a consistent pipeline of high-quality opportunities
  • Establish strong relationships across key industry stakeholders
  • Secure new projects within the industrial electrical/control panel space
  • Achieve approximately $2.5M in new project value within the first year

 

Candidate Profile

  • Proven track record in business development within industrial electrical, control panels, automation, or related sectors
  • Strong existing network across EPC firms, industrial contractors, OEMs, or system integrators
  • Good understanding of industrial control panels, switchgear, automation systems, or electrical equipment
  • Demonstrated success in a hunter role, focused on generating new business
  • Ability to navigate technical sales cycles and engage with engineering stakeholders
  • Entrepreneurial, self-driven, and results-oriented mindset
  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills
