People Corporation, a national leader in group benefits, HR solutions, retirement, and wellness services, is seeking a results-driven Consultant en Développement des Affaires (Business Development Consultant) to join their Laval, QC office. This strategic sales-focused role is ideal for experienced professionals in the group insurance industry who thrive in a consultative B2B environment and are looking to work in a high-impact, client-focused setting.
As a Business Development Consultant, you will be responsible for generating new business, managing the full sales cycle, and delivering tailored group insurance and HR service solutions to prospective clients. You’ll collaborate with internal experts across marketing, underwriting, and client service teams to create value-driven proposals that solve client challenges.
Achieve annual business development targets and contribute to revenue growth within the assigned region, industry, or product group.
Lead all sales efforts including prospecting, networking, pipeline management, and closing.
Conduct market research to identify emerging sales channels and opportunities.
Develop and implement an annual sales plan aligned with corporate objectives.
Act as a strategic advisor to clients by understanding their organizational needs, total compensation strategies, and benefits philosophy.
Recommend appropriate plan designs, services, and cost-containment strategies based on client needs.
Work closely with internal underwriting and marketing teams to develop customized pricing for prospects.
Deliver engaging, in-person sales presentations to prospective clients about People Corporation’s offerings in group benefits, retirement, wellness, HR, and administration services.
Ensure all RFPs and finalist presentations reflect client expectations and business needs.
Maintain accurate records of sales activities using CRM systems and report regularly to the Vice President on pipeline, sales stages, revenue, and forecasting.
Cultivate strong relationships within the organization and maintain a positive and professional image of the company.
Minimum 3 years of experience in group insurance, ideally with advisory or consultative sales experience.
AMF Certification as a Group Insurance Advisor is mandatory.
Proven sales acumen and financial understanding with a successful record of achieving B2B sales targets in a consultative environment.
Challenger sales style and an innovative approach to business development and marketing.
Exceptional communication and presentation skills, capable of engaging diverse client audiences.
Deep knowledge of group insurance products and services, including customer service and support processes.
Strong interpersonal skills with a client-first mindset and professional presence.
Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional internal teams, including pricing, finance, service delivery, marketing, and client management.
