Description:

Dow Jones, a leading global provider of news, data, and information services, is hiring a Director of Business Development to join its Partnerships & Licensing team in Toronto, Ontario. This senior-level role involves managing and expanding B2B partnerships, developing new business opportunities, and negotiating strategic contracts to drive revenue growth and maximize partner engagement.

As part of this position, you will play a key role in building long-term, high-value relationships with partners, supporting their integration of Dow Jones content and solutions, and collaborating with internal teams to deliver world-class information services to top enterprises worldwide.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Drive new revenue generation and retention through strategic partnerships and renewals.

  • Build and maintain senior-level relationships with partner organizations to maximize content utilization and ensure long-term collaboration.

  • Oversee partnership sales enablement by coordinating marketing materials, sales training, and feedback loops.

  • Conduct or arrange marketing initiatives to enhance end-customer awareness of Dow Jones’ content and value proposition.

  • Manage contract renewals, negotiations, and forecasts, including pipeline tracking and reporting.

  • Identify and develop new business opportunities and information sources to enhance partner solutions.

  • Collaborate with legal, finance, product, and technology teams for contract vetting, compliance, and implementation of new agreements.

  • Support onboarding of new partners, including content delivery, billing setup, sales training, and communication planning.


Qualifications:

  • At least 7 years of experience in business development, sales, consulting, marketing, or financial services.

  • Strong background in business negotiations and relationship management at a senior level.

  • Understanding of internet and intranet applications, web technologies, XML, and news standard formats.

  • Commercial awareness of contractual obligations and their implications.

  • Proven project management skills with the ability to meet deadlines.

  • Track record of success in building and expanding strategic solutions with major companies.

  • Excellent planning, attention to detail, and ability to develop and implement retention strategies.
