Building Mechanical Technician

Purpose of the Role:
The Building Mechanical Technician will work in EXP’s Building and Industrial Mechanical team. The role involves design, modeling, and client representation across diverse projects (schools, municipal, institutional, commercial, private, agro-food, pharmaceutical, etc.).

Key Responsibilities:

• Participate in conceptual studies and project design.

• Design and draft mechanical plans: HVAC, heating/cooling, plumbing, utilities (compressed air, steam, potable and non-potable water, glycol systems, sprinklers, etc.).

• Conduct engineering calculations related to designs.

• Prepare material and equipment lists.

• Assist with cost estimation.

• Prepare, adjust, and perform quality control of engineering drawings.

• Attend kickoff meetings, coordinate team tasks with other disciplines, and ensure client requirements are met.

• Conduct site surveys and support construction follow-up.

• Ensure adherence to standards, plan quality, and engineering execution standards.

• Stay updated on products, technologies, and standards in the field.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

• DEC in Mechanical Engineering / Building Engineering, DEP in Building Design, or equivalent.

• Minimum 10 years relevant experience in building mechanical design.

• Proficiency with REVIT MEP and AutoCAD.

• Fluent in French (oral and written).

• Valid Class 5 driver’s license and access to a vehicle.

• ASP construction card.

• Strong communication skills with contractors to explain technical requirements and coordinate work.
