Description:

gbi is seeking a passionate and experienced Mechanical Engineer to join as Director of the Building Mechanical Engineering team in Quebec. This role combines technical leadership, business development, team mentoring, and client engagement to ensure high-quality engineering deliverables and successful project execution. The Director will actively contribute to the growth and strategic development of the building mechanical engineering division.

Responsibilities:

  • Act as a key communicator with clients, negotiating agreements and ensuring satisfaction.

  • Ensure technical quality and compliance with deliverables in the discipline.

  • Participate in recruitment and team development for the Quebec office’s mechanical engineering group.

  • Identify new clients, partners, and business opportunities in the Quebec region.

  • Mentor and supervise all team members, fostering technical and professional development.

  • Develop and enhance best practices for work processes.

  • Collaborate with other company divisions to meet regional business objectives.

Qualifications & Skills:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering with specialization in building mechanical systems.

  • Licensed member of the Ordre des ingénieurs du Québec.

  • Minimum 10 years of relevant engineering experience, preferably in consulting.

  • Experience with health and school network projects.

  • Strong knowledge of applicable standards and codes.

  • Excellent client representation, communication, and teamwork skills.

  • Ability to perform under stress and meet tight deadlines.
