Description:

Stevans Commercial Interiors (“Stevans”) is hiring a reliable, detail oriented Part Time Bookkeeper to manage day to day accounting operations, with a strong focus on accounts payable and accounts receivable. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working independently, keeping clean records, and supporting a growing company with accurate financial reporting.

 

The role is approximately 2 to 3 days per week, with consistent ongoing work.

 

Role Description:

 

Accounts Payable and Receivable

  • Enter and manage vendor bills and customer invoices
  • Reconcile vendor statements and resolve discrepancies
  • Track receivables, deposits, and support collections
  • Match purchase orders to invoices

 

Banking and Reconciliations

  • Perform weekly bank and credit card reconciliations
  • Ensure transactions are accurately coded

 

Reporting and Month End Support

  • Support month end close and clean financials
  • Prepare basic financial summaries as needed
  • Maintain organized records for year end and external accountant
  • Support HST filings and reporting

 

General Bookkeeping

  • Maintain an accurate chart of accounts
  • Track expenses by project and vendor
  • Keep digital records organized and current

 

Required Skills and Experience

  • 2 plus years of bookkeeping or accounting experience
  • Strong working knowledge of QuickBooks Desktop
  • Solid understanding of AP, AR, reconciliations, and cash flow
  • High attention to detail and accuracy
  • Comfortable working independently and meeting deadlines
  • Clear communication and professionalism
