Description:

Alexander Dennis, a global leader in the design and manufacture of double-deck buses, is currently seeking a BOM Controller to join its North America Procurement team based in Winnipeg, Manitoba. As part of a company committed to sustainability and the transition to zero-emission mobility, this role will be crucial in managing and controlling material costs for vehicle production and ensuring compliance with regulations such as Buy America.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Monitor and analyze all North American vehicle BOM (Bill of Materials) costs across platforms and customers.

  • Report all BOM cost changes on a weekly basis, including change magnitude and responsible owners.

  • Ensure BOM costs in the system are always aligned with approved supplier pricing.

  • Validate that all BOM cost increases are supported by the appropriate approvals and documentation.

  • Identify and confirm commodity savings across platforms and customer-specific BOMs.

  • Prepare monthly KPI reports on approved BOM cost movements by platform and customer variants.

  • Support the tendering and production costing processes by providing accurate and current material cost data to the Commercial Department.

  • Generate Buy America compliance submissions using verified BOM data.

  • Ensure no unauthorized BOM cost increases and maintain the accuracy of cost reporting.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Deep understanding of Buy America regulations and audit processes.

  • Extensive experience with ERP systems (in a manufacturing context) and BOM structures/classifications.

  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel and data analysis/reporting tools.

  • Demonstrated ability to eliminate unnecessary costs and influence outcomes through effective communication and problem-solving.

  • Experience in a manufacturing, procurement, or materials management role is essential.
